Whenever ever I drink alcohol wether it's a mixed drink like Malibu and Coke or a Smirnoff twister I get very bad (what I call acid reflux) burning pain in my abdomen. The pain begins right where my my scar (from gallbladder surgery) at the start of my sternum. Then the pain travels all throw my heart area and to my left arm. All which have very bad pain. I am 22 years old and Have been having this problem for about a year now, only when I drink, never when I eat spicey food.
Does anyone have a clue whats going on???

alcohol is a big no no for most people who have reflux or stomach issues.
I know it's the only thing consistently that I have trouble with and i keep trying to sneak in one little glass of wine or a beer occasionally and it will almost always cause burning and burping.
Sometimes I will get pain in my chest too.

Don't drink if you have acid reflux. I try to stay away from it even though I'm 23 years old and my boyfriend likes to frequent bars a lot. But I try to stay away from alcohol cause the next day I get the worst reflux. It flares up really bad for me so just stay away from it. Basically the alcohol relaxes your lower esophageal sphincter even more than it already was. So it makes it worse.

Well thats the only time I get pain. Its just for an hour long and it even makes it hard for me to breathe during that time. I cant touch my stomach or heart area because it causes more pain. After the episode of pain there is no side effects until I drink again.

An ulcer can cause that burning stomach pain, as well as acid reflux. I'd get it chkd out by a GI doc. I had an endoscopy done, and sure enough, I had Gatritis, Acid reflux, and a few very small erosions (ulcers). I am on Prilosec right now. I cannot drink, and If I do, very rarely, it is no more than 1 or 2 drinks, that's it.

Acid reflux usually is just a sign of other major or minor disease in the gastric, alot of them to be exact and you wont know for sure unless you go for a check up. Mine started as that as well and now I was diagnosed with GERD and HIATAL HERNIA. You shouldn't wait so long or until another symptoms develops.
