i have severe intermittant claudication, and due to a problem during a serious bout with pneumonia about 2 months ago, also now have peripheral neurapathy in my right foot. after spending 13 days in intensive care trying to survive the pneumonia, the hostpital hooked me up with a vasculer surgeon to address the rapidly deteriating foot. he prescribed lyrica, lortab and tossed me to a pain mgmt. doctor a few days ago. this man has me on lyrica 3 times a day(250 total), methedone 2 times a day(10 mill. total), and breakthru lortabs (3 total a day). this ain't quite gonna keep up with the pain, but i'll give it some time.. my real problem is this: my wife is insisting that the drugs (and pain, i imagine)have me dingy, spacy and in a general mental fugue. (more that usual with me, anyway) i really don't see it myself to any extent, but my introspection may be faulty. any of ya'll have this problem, if so to what degree and how long does this last? i'd appreciate any insight.thanks

what you are taking you should be spacey and in a fungue. try forgetting the methadone and the lortabs (otherwise known as hydrocodone) and switch to percocets. i found when i was taking the proper amount of those for pain all it did was take care of the pain. to many and you don't get any more pain relief just groggy and spacey.

thanks for repplying, randy. i THINK my methedone is 5mg., morning and night. i thought maybe this was a low dosage, or is it? any way theres the lortab breakthru 3 times in 24 hrs. as needed, and the 50mg. lyrica 1 in the morning and afternoon and 3 at night. is this a large total dosage for fairly severe foot nerve damage? ( i know its hard to answr under the circumstances, just best guess.) my wifes an rn and keeps up with the meds, thats why i don't remember some dosages off the top of my fuzzy head. thanks again.
