I hope you feel better. Sounds like you need to talk it out some. Why would you do all of that to yourself? Suicide hurts so many people, other than just yourself. Do you have friends and family that are concerned for you? Why are you depressed?

It doesn't matter what gender you are. In my opinion, we are about 99 percent the same anyway.

Why do you have an eating disorder? Is there something that we can do to help you through this? I missed your earlier posts. Again, I hope that you feel better. Please eat sensibly and take care of yourself.

Hey Andy, nice to see you back.

I'm sorry things arn't really going a lot better for you now. It really doesn't matter that you are male, although you are right in saying there aren't many that post here... YET. Maybe they will soon if they see they wont be the only one, as I know there are a LOT of males suffering from eating disorders also. And please, PLEASE give the ED Clinic a chance! What have you got to lose? Already deciding that it's going to suck before you even get there wont help you.

And yes, I'm from New Zealand, but I think you already knew that.....?

Hope things start to get better for you soon, Andy.

Hi andyyy!
I'm glad you're back. I hope you don't feel uncomfortable here b/c you're male. We all have very similar experiences and challenges regardless of sex. I think that you can probably find a lot of support here if you let us try and help. When do you go to the clinic? I think that it could be wonderful for you.

hey andyy. how old are you? listen, no matter what gender we all are, anorexia and bulimia hit us all just as hard. please don't drink. you know that will never, ever help you, right? and i know this might be dumb to say, but to stop you from drinking alcohol-it has a lot of calories too ya know. so please don't drink. but really for the right reason-cuz it will hurt you. alcohol can harm you terirbly, which im sure you know. but anyway im not really sure you don't want to hurt yourself. but i don't want you to. are you getting help? if you needa talk, my email is rachdaar@optonline.net-feel free.

andyy-

Hey my friend. I just stumbled upon this board tonight after surfing around. I'm a 26-year old anorexic male who's been suffering with this disease for about 7 years or so. I've never actually written about it publicly until now, but the folks on this board seemed very sympathetic and understanding. I have seeked some treatment in the past but for some reason, i wasn't really ready to deal with it and so i left and told myself i'd fix it when i was ready. I'm still waiting. Basically, i'm very good at creating distractions and i agree with what you said, working full time is a great distraction.

Anyway, i don't really have any answers for you but i did want to let you know that there is another man out there with the same disease. I know that we're all suffering no matter what sex we are, but i think that men who have this feel especially excluded because it's still quite rare.

Despite your expectations, I hope that the stay in the clinic goes well, it's a tough road that's really all i've learned up till this point.

hang in there.

-cp
