Hi everyone!

THis is my first post here, since I haven't really touched an ED board in almost 2 years. I found that one of my triggers was the boards, because I picked up on things from them and it made me worse in the long run, depending on what they said lol.

I've had an ED for about 9-10 years, it started in about 6th grade, I'm currently in a good state and am 'stable' at least for now. If I happen to fall into another relapse it would kill me, it's always worse another time around. I guess I'm writting because I'm always worried that something may set me off, and my biggest concern that I have to deal with,is what was my biggest fear - pregnancy.

I am 4+ months pregnant, not really a lot of weight gain yet, but you hear stories of people gaining lots of wieght during pregnancy, when I'm use to losing weight equal to almost a full person. I dont really want to go into how much wieght I actually lost, because I was very heavy and now I'm somewhat at a healthier wieght for my structure.

Today was my 21st b-day, in which was a day I'd never thought I'd see, but thankfully I found that ray of hope, and found help when I needed it, and so can all of you. I know it sounds easier said then done, but I just wanted to let those of you that need it, know- that there is hope out there, and never stop trying to achieve recovery.

Hello and thanks for then encouragement! Congrats on being pregnant, too. Just know that you don't have to gain a whole lot of weight. Most women gain a lot of weight because they use pregnancy as an excuse to eat anything and everything and they figure they're going to get "fat" anyway with the baby so they'll just go for the gusto. You won't have any problem if you eat nutritiously and get moderate amounts of exercise. If women like Cindy Crawford can have kids and have a great body afterwards it can't be impossible, it just takes some self discipline. To treat your own body well during pregnancy is treating your baby's body well, too. Good luck! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Angelique,

Congrats on your pregnancy. It's great to hear from someone who has been through an ed. I am recovered but still recovering, getting there slowly. I guess if anything can heal you pregancy would be that. I would like to have a child soon myself so it's great to hear your encouraging words. Hope you and your baby are doing well.

I can relate to a lot of things you said; especially about ED boards and chat rooms making a person worst-I find that times these boards can also trigger me and when somethings are mentioned I find that I want to do it "better" than the other people. Yet, at other times, these boards are very helpful and without them I would be lost.
I want to congrat you on your pregancy. What a wonderful gift you have been given. If you find at times it's hard to eat because of the weight gain just remember that there's a little baby inside you that needs the nutriton and the only way your baby is going to get it is through you. I can understand your fears well and I pray that all goes well for you and you don't relapse. Please, if possible, keep us updated.
God Bless.
