Hi there,

I have had a cold for about a month now. When i eat, my glands seem to swell up in the side of my neck. I have had antibiotics, but they have done nothing.

Any ideas what this could be?

How many times have you been on anti biotics ?
because after a while they will stop working if you have had them alot.
If you havent and it wont go away then go back to the doctors and ask for some blood work. Noone here can tell you what it is but it could be many many things so dont worry to much about cancer or anything extremely serious like that until the doctor can say that that is a very real possibility.
I have a swollen node on my neck right now and am going for an FNA next week after my blood work came back with abnormal WBC results. I had been ill for a very very long time but im still not going to say it is cancer until it comes back with that the added stress of worrying about that is enough to make you sick.

was it a common cold or flu ?

it can take up to 7 weeks for nodes to go down once they have come up so if you have had a flu i wouldnt stress yourself just yet. Just pop along to the doctors and see what he say's.
