Whats the best pill for anixety? Has anyone found that a particular one is good? or does it just depend on the person?

I think all birth control pills have the potential to have depression and anxiety as side effects. Birth control pills deplete B vitamins. These vitamins are important for the mood. Taking a B complex vitamin really helps, though. As far as pills go, the one that I've heard the worst things about as far as anxiety is Yasmin. I'd stay away from that one if I were you.

Women respond differently to each pill....what might be good for me might be bad for you....so it's kind of trial and error I guess. For me, regular Ortho Tricyclen was the best. Ortho Lo was horrible - wish I never would've heard of that one. Yasmin was good for my cramps but that's about it. Good luck in finding one that works for you!

It's been proven in clinical trials that the birth control pill, in general, can be known to cause anxiety. For women who already suffer from anxiety, it can truly exacerbate the problem. But for other women, they may actually develop anxiety from being on the pill. So it's just not a great method of contraception for women who are already predisposed to anxiety.

If you are already suffering from anxiety, I would urge you to explore the non-hormonal birth control options available. There are many better alternatives that don't involve altering your body chemistry and throwing your hormones in a tailspin the way the pill does. Condoms are always a good option, diaphrams, FAM, LadyComp, copper IUD, etc. The point is that there's other stuff out there than just the hormonal methods (including pill, ring, IUD, shot, patch).
