I havnt eatn for 2days now and I dont feel hungry, I know I need to eat, but it is frustrating when you dont feel hungry. My stomach feels like it is beiing ripped appart, this has been going on since I was in the 7th grade, and I am a Sophmore in college. I have also noticed that I get headaches alot and dissyness. I also get preasure build up in my head around the brain, though I have not told the doc. the last time I saw him/her. This mon. when I go in I will mention it but I dont know what to do. the preasure feels like it is squeesing my brain together. Could be because the lack of food I am eating.

Hi extol,

You should definately see your doc about the head pressure.I'm not sure if it's related to lack of food though. I'm on my 3rd day of no food myself. It's not unusual for me.I've been like it for months now. When I do eat, it's mostly junk food.Well mainly chocolate. I don't get headaches very often and then it's usually due to stress. If the eating problem persists I would at the very least take some multi vitamin tablets. I hope you can discuss this with your doc too.

look after yourself,
G.

OF COURSE it is the lack of food.
Feed your body. If you don't feel hungry that is the depression. Eat because it is taking care of yourself.
That is your responsibility.

Hunger is just one mechanism for notifying us we need to fuel the body.
The other one is the MIND.

Eat something like yogurt to begin with then add other foods.

Then tell us that you are eating. Don't play games with your health. I did that once and it is really stupid.

I didn't mean to be mad at you, but I do get mad when I see people doing destructive things to themselves, because I care. Now are you eating? Please tell me.

Graspinglife:
that is very destructive behavior, and is not something to tell someone else that isn't eating.
You can give yourself diabetes by living on sugars, did you know that? Do you want to add insulin shot dependence to your list of experiences? C'mon!

Just borrowing your thread extol, hope you don't mind.

Friend: While I've agreed with much of what you say, not telling someone who has problems about mine isn't something I agree with. I gave my opinion regarding headaches and not eating. I didn't say it was ok, I just elected not to give extol a hard time, and let extol know others have similar prob's.My doc' and councellor are aware of my eating prob's, perhaps soon extol's doc' will know too.

I sound a bit annoyed about this but I'm not, mearly expressing a difference of opinion. I hope you have a good day :-)

Hope you have a good day too extol.

To reply to the post here cause I am in a hurry,
I dont feel hungry, I tried to eat the otherday and after I was done I got really hot and sweaty and along with it I threw it all back up.
I still ahv the headache from the beginning of the week. I took some prescription medicine 800mg is what my doc. from my other hosp. gave me. That is the highest the medication can go. I still have that same headache.

Thank you for replying.
Maybe the medicine is upsetting your stomach, making you not want to eat? It may be the source of your headaches too. Have you reserched the side-effects of it?
If you call the office and tell them the extent of your problems, they often can get you in to see the doctor much quicker.

Graspinglife:
While we disagree on that issue, I am not against you. I hope you take better care of yourself, too.
A diet of so much sugar can really affect the degree of depression.

The medicine is a painkiller, Ibeprophen, (I probably misspelled the word). THough if it is taken as an overdose it could harm the body. It is not strong enough for the headaches. This was the first time I had taken the painkiller in such a longtime. I dont eat alot of sugars. I am not big on candy, thoough candy can give someone a huge headache. I get them and it takes awhile for them to go away, but I am still going to mention it to my doc. on monday.
Also is it normal to lose 2lb. in 2 days cause I wiegh about 140lb. Is that to light for being 5ft 8inches, some of my fellow peoples has told me that I lost weight since 1999. That I have become skinny since then.

Hi extol

I'm glad you're seeing your doc', I hope you can tell him everything. In my opinion losing 2lb in 2 days isn't a cause for concern.Peoples' weight can fluctuate. However, if it is consistent and never goes up, then you may need to do something about it. Eating when your stomach dosen't tell you you're hungry is no fun (I know) But just try small meals more often rather than main ones. Could help with the vomiting.

Your doc' will have a chart for height and weight and will be able to show you what you should weigh.I'm having to convert (used to metric) but as a comparison, I'm 6ft 1 in' and 150lbs (male). Minimum for my height according to my doc'. You probably know this but drink plenty of water, dehydration can cause wicked headaches, especially when taking large doses of painkillers. Take care.

Friend: I didn't think you were against me, how could you be with your username :-), I'm certainly not either.I am my own worst enemy when it comes to treatment. A self loathing thing that comes and goes.Have a good weekend.

best wishes,
G.

Both of you have good weekends, too.

Extol, try nibbling on dry soda crackers to settle your stomach.

Thanx friend and others,
I will try eating a little more.
But also I have thinned out so much that
you can see my hip bones and my wrists are are realy boney and you can start to see some of my rib cage. It all looks cool and everything cause I look kinda like skellator off of HE-MAN. I constantly weigh myself alot. Cause I dont want a gut on me or to look like I am bloated.

You sound anorexic, which is deadly.
I hope you tell your doctor of this perspective right away!!!
We are supposed to have an abdomen, you know.
It is healthy! You are far from having a "gut" or excessive abdominal tissue.

Talk about this on the Anorexic Board, and you will see what I mean.
When people feel they have no control in life, sometimes they feel they have control over something by not eating, and they do this until eating makes them feel sick, because they think it means they have lost control.

Eating should NEVER be about looks or control.
It should always be about fueling the body and health.
Then the looks part will follow!

Skeletons are made to be inside the body, not showing on the outside. That is gross! I hope you can see there is nothing attractive about looking like a cartoon character, extol!
PLEASE, PLEASE get some therapy and help before you do permanent damage.

That is unhealthy thinking.

I think it looks cool, though I am flat stomach and chest. You can see little of the ribs but it is getting there. I do feel like my stomach is poping out though. My mother says I am just fine and not to worry of looking too fat or to thin. My father thinks I have an eating disorder, but my friend thinks that my father says thathe cant till the diff. between eating disorders and someone who is just thin. Eversince I was little my mother had to buy superslim pants for me cause I was so thin. I have been thin like this eversince I was young and now I dont know what to think.

Being naturally thin and not eating and liking that you get skinnier is not the same thing, and I think you know the difference.

Your parents know you better and care more for you than your friends.

Not eating IS an eating disorder.
Please admit this to your parents and/or doctor and get the help you need.
You are playing a dangerous game with your body and it is no way to get attention.
