My mother-in-law and I have never really got a long. she had 2 strokes back to back in mid April. Now she is extreme mean and hateful and very two-faced. She calls my house at all hours of the night and leaves nasty messages for my husband. Could this be a side effect from the stroke?

Hi,
I have had a 55 yr. old stroke survivor. Thank goodness I haven't had personality changes. I became disabled in the leg and arm.

But let me say, I know it's the certain part of the brain that is affected. It may be that your mother-in-law was affected in the judgement part of the brain. This can be checked with the Neurologist. Or, it may be a particular med they have her on.

I'm sorry she is treating you this way, but possibly she is not responsible. I wish for you that this behavior on her part will stop in time. Keep the faith!
