I'm 17 and have never liked the way that my body looks. for the past few months, I have had some weird eating habits. I'll go about a week without eating anything and then i will have a couple days where i just give in and eat a lot. I'm also taking metabolife pills in the morning to help so i dont feel hungry. i realize that im starving myself and people say that if you starve yourself that you wont lose weight because your body holds onto the fat when you stop eating but that's obviously not true because many people who become anorexic lose tons of weight and i am starting to also. is this bad?

thats called bulemic, non-purging type. meaning you binge eat, but don't throw up (purge). The weight you are losing is water weight, and then after that you lose muscle mass, but not fat. By any definition this is bad for your body and can definitly have serious side effects.

What you are doing is definitely not healthy.
I know how hard it is to eat "healthy", to accept your body, etc. And how once you get caught up in that whole thing, it is hard to get out of again (NOT impossible, though!) I really would suggest you get some help, talk to somebody, before you get too stuck in all that eating disorder stuff. I remember, the first time I became anorexic, I kind of "wanted to"... I wanted to get to a point where would be "dangerously thin"... and I admit, I still know these kinds of feelings. They are dangerous :-(. They are so powerful, but so so dangerous.

Also, ask yourself what t is about your body that you don't like. Do you feel overweight? Or is it rather that you want a kind of identity as the "exremely thin one"?
