This is my first post. I am trying to find out what is wrong with me and trying to find people with the same symptoms. I have stabbing burning pain that started in my upper arms two years ago and has spread to my shoulders and upper legs. It only hurts when I am in motion (especially sudden motion)or am trying to find a comfortable position in bed. It is very bad in the morning and not so bad later in the day. I work full time and get a little exercise. It's hard because I am so tired at the end of the day. I thought it was just aging (I'm 52). But I see people a lot older that have a lot more mobility. I do not have any of the other symptoms of fibro (numbness, tingling, fogginess, joint pain etc.). I am not sure this is fibro but it's getting scary.

Hi Kim:
Welcome to the board. I'm sorry you are suffering and not finding answers to your symptoms. The symptoms you are having could be fibro. Fibro is such a funny thing (not ha-ha funny). Some people will have different symptoms than others, and it's still fibro. Have you seen a rheumatologist?
Blessings,

Dear Kim,
I just read your message and sorry to hear you are having so much pain with your fibramyalgia. I too have this condition and was seeing a Rheumatologist for years. I tried many things and he was very good about allowing me to suggest things that may be helpful to me. I finally found there was a doctor in the area that specialized in treating fibramyalgia and chronic fatique which goes along with Fibra many times.
I began going to him over a year ago and it has made all the differance in the world. I was told I have a sever case of this condition and at that point I could barely function or do my housework.
The first thing the new doctor did was change all my medication. The most important thing with this congition is getting the deep restful sleep. He put me on a medication called Neurontin 300mg to get the sleep I needed to begin to get a handle on my condition. DEEP WATER arobices are also very helpful in the joint pain.
I do not want to go too long, but if you are interested in more information or getting this physician's book which is fantastic. I would love to do all I can to help you get a better quality of life. I do not think people truely understand how we suffer with this condition since we do not LOOK sick.
God Bless You,
Yvonne
