I have been diagnosed with PCOS. My doctor prescribed OrthoCyclen which I took for 2 months. It made me so nauseus, crampy and crabby. But I had periods. I spoke to my doctor about the side effects. He switched me to Yaz. I have taken one month and have no side effects. Yeah! However, also no periods.
Is this normal? I have taken a first reponse test which came back negative. I am 4 days late.

Hi,
I am sure that you are nervous, but I imagine you are missing your period this month because you switched pills. Sometimes your body does not know how to react to the new hormones, so a missed or delayed period occurs. Since you took the pregnancy test, I would not worry about being pregnant. I would wait and see what happens next month. If you STILL do not get a period, call your doctor. This could just mean that you are not getting the right kind and amount of hormone. YAZ is a lower dosage (highly effective though), so maybe it is just too low for you. Not sure...but I would encourage you to try and not worry about it since you already took the test.
Good luck to you....I hope that everything works out okay. I am sure that you are fine...your body is just adjusting to a new hormone.
