I have had a resection about 11 months ago and then a laproscopic surgery for adhesions outside the colon.
I have been in the hospital for blockages due to scar tissue inside my intestines. I also have ibs C and nerve damage from my surgery(according to my dr)
My question is... I take ultram and this is really the only thing that allows me to function through the muscle spasms, the pinching, cramping pain as well as the pain responses, and sometimes like today I even need more.(took flexoril from my husband's back pain pills and it finally helped)
If I don't take my ultram in time, the pain is very hard to get under control.
When I do finally get the intestinal pain under control, I am still left with chills through my spine and neck, sweating on my stomach and abdomen, tears with each pinching feeling, shakiness, neasua and overall weak feeling.
Today I was having alot of pinching pain this morning, I took one ultram when I woke up and then was chasing the pain until I finally took 2 at 11am and also one flexoril.
Only then does the overall pain responses calm down. It is extremely frustrating to keep the pain under control without taking too much medicine for it.
Is this normal to have these pain responses or does this sound like nerve damage?
