Hi, I'm 26.. currently trying to lose weight.. I don't really eat alot of fruit or vegtables. My skin isn't really good (just saw a skin therapist yesterday about that).. Anyway, I need a vitamin regimen. The main thing is I want one to supplement my bad eating habits. I was thinking of getting GNC's Women Ultra mega. I will also take some extra vitamin A and Zinc and Acidophilus per my skin therapist. I read on here that fish oil is good. I also read that it is good for people with social problems (which I have major social problems), so should I take that as well... I'm so confused lol. Thanks to anyone who could help

Fish oil will not help for social disorders....However that being said it will help in skin problems especially dry skin. I'd go for 3000 mg of EPA/DHA which is about 10,000 mg of fish oil daily or about 10 softgels which should help your skin......

First thing I'd do is get a blood test to establish a baseline
so you can compare the data later after you start a dietary
regiment. Ask the doc for a general blood test, ie vitamin,
mineral deficiency, blood sugar score, cholesterol, etc. They
know the drill. Get the data, then see if there is key issues to
focus on, then start making your diet pill regimen.

Hi, Skittley :) I think that I have responded to some of your other threads, too, but anywho...

I just wanted to add that I am currently trying out Alive! by Nature's Way. I have heard many good things about it. I just took my first "dose" today, so I'll see how it goes. I was thinking it might be good for you, especially if you don't eat enough fruits and veggies, as it has a fruit, as well as a veggie, blend in it. It smells funky, but I think this indicates that it's potent :D . I'm always trying to improve my physical and mental health, so I'm always trying to keep current with news, etc. and updating my regimens. I'm also trying this natural biotin shampoo and conditioner...anyway...

Colleen = a big health nut ;)

Have a good weekend!

Fish oil will not help for social disorders.....

i'm inclined to think that it may well help. this problem is often linked to mental health problems. fish oil's benefit for mental health is well known, and so it may well help with social anxiety as a symtpom of depression/ anxiety.

Sorry R.B. but i have to disagree with you on this one. Yes i have seen studies of Fish oil helping in minor depression but for social phobias and panic attacks well i haven't seen any Hard studies out there.

If anyone believes in Fishoils its me as i have for years taken 10 grams a day with mixed tocopherols. I believe my arteries are clean and i do not worry about cancer/als/parkinsons etc...But again i just don't see someone having fear of flying and just taking Fish oil will miracuously cure that fear and so on.

Later !!
