Hi!!! I've been doing my own research and I just got to ask for some input. Does anyone with Type 2 have Hypothyroidism??? I think I do...I've got a disturbing amount of symptoms pointing that way.....the Type2 , Insulin Resistance, Weight Gain, Fatigue, Puffy Eyes,Dry Skin, High Cholesterol, High Blood pressure and Premature Ovarian Failure...I'm having blood work done on Monday....I think I have HypoT....and it hasn't been diagnosed, thus all my "issues", anyone else out there like me??? Also, my grandmother had Hypothyroidism, too. Could the HypoT be the cause for the Type2???
Thanks for any input.....Jen:confused:

It sounds like you are in a panic. First, calm down. Just because you have symptoms, it does not mean you have hypothyroidsm. Just let the doctor do the necessary tests and give you the results. There are medications for it.

Porterville, Hi!!! I'm an RN....and I am panicing because if I do have Hypothyroidism, it could be the reason for my premature trip into menopause @ 28. And , if it's Hypothyroidism it's also given me a "boat load of problems"...hypertension, high cholesterol and triglycerides, diabetes and insulin resistance, etc..... I think I have a reason to be panicing and a reason to be annoyed with my fertility doctor and a reason to be scared (I have two small children, adopted from Korea that I need to be around for). Hi, I have had hypothyroidism for 4-5 years and type 2 diabetes for 14 months. Both are being controlled wonderfully with medication. I am 43 and have confidence that I will be around for a long time, if it is God's will. Please don't get into a worry. It won't help at all. I am doing fine. My last A1C was 5.6. My lipid panel is great, excerise does wonders for that. I have lost 60 pounds. There are many things we can do to help our conditions and when needed medication is a valuable tool. Hang in there....

I am fairly new here, and not a Dr., but maybe you should also check into PCOS.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome. It mimics alot of other things, and causes weight gain, missed periods, hair growth on face and torso, etc. Just a thought.
Also, maybe check metabolic syndrome X, or dysmetabolic syndrome(the new name for this) Hope this helps!
