When you say you have pain's behind your ribs, Is it at the front of your ribs at the sides coming in!!!

Have you had any tests yet!!

How long have you had the pain under your ribs!!!

I have had pain under my ribs everyday for 9 months.

I had an endoscopy done about a month ago. I went in there and they hooked me up to an iv, they rolled me into the room and they sprayed the back of my throat with the numbing spray. It's a very strange feeling. Next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room. They used a medication called versed that knocked me out. I don't remember a thing. It was really pretty easy. Good luck with yours.

I can tell you its nothing to worry about... they gave me a shot and next thing I knew I was in the recovery room.. I wish all procedures were that easy.

I've heard that even now some hospitals make you do it awake, but of course slightly sedated or numbed.

But the norm now seems to be to knock you out. I was blissfully knocked out for the procedure. I was still awake when they went in the test room, and the last thing I really remember was them fitting the mouthpiece in my mouth (had to readjust because I guess I lost it).

Then I woke up in the recovery area. Lots of gas blowing off in there! :D

It was nothing, really, as long as you have the more modern way of using anesthesia.

I was doped up on demerol and versed. I was awake but at that point with all the drugs you are completely detached from your body and you don't care what they do to you....

It was an extremely easy procedure its just the stress of the work up before they wheel you in. I was a nervous wreck and was sure they were going to find something serious but they found nothing. I am just glad I did it. It took me over 3 years to build up the courage to get it done.

I have had 5 endoscopy's done in the last 4 years. So many beacuse I have Barretts Esophagaus, and they want to make sure it has not turned cancerous. I see some of the comments say they do not remember a thing, lucky for them, every test I had I woke up just as they were starting to take out the tube and I choke every time, not very pleasant.

Question, did anyone who had a endoscopy, were they told that there was scaring of their bronchial tubes and they were now obstructed? I am having a hard time breathing last couple of years. They put me on Advair and Abuterol. Anyone have a response.
