Hello, for the past few days I have been having what I believe are PVC's. THey seem to occur when I stand or or bend over or talk alot.. I feel it right near or on my sternum. I am curious if anyone has some advice.

Make an appointment with your Doctor.
I don't know your history but if you feel that you are in distress, call 911. If it starts to happen again go to the ER(so it can be caught on record).
Stay away from caffine. Get some good sleep. If you have been overactive, slow down and get some rest. Destress. It wouldn't hurt to rehydrate yourself, if you have had a fever.

Some PVC's don't become serious for years, others are an indacation of something serious going wrong. Personally, after what I've been through, I feel all PVC's need treatment. The trick is getting them on record so that the Doctor sees them and convencing the Doctor to what degree the PVCs are disabling your life.
Never ignore them.

well I myself have no real history of heart problems am 20 years old and have bad anxiety issues. SO I dont relax very often at all. So I do believe i have been focusing on them maybe to much. And ya I made sure to cut all caffine from my diet weeks ago and I smoked for a breif period in my life .. but I quit and havent touched them sense. ( smoked for maybe a year all together ultra lights at that) uh I used to play sports to im not over weight either. and my knowledge there have only been 2 cases of heart disease / attacks my great grandfather when he was in his 60's had one shoveling the snow .. he was 200 lbs over weight and my great uncle has had a stroke but he smoked for 60 years drinks and his very overweight. No one has ever had a problem at my age on either side in my family

That is not likely to happen. Never heard that happening before at all. Unless you have a structural heart defect or wide spread heart disease.

Do you mean that is not likly that they are serious in my case?

I also have PVC's, and they have been getting worse and worse, but I have other heart issues so the increasing PVC's are just a sign of that.

The hardest thing is getting them on record... one always hopes that they happen at the exact moment that the stethoscope is on you or during the five seconds a 12 lead EKG is happening but most aren't that lucky.

If they continue you can ask for a 24 hour holt monitor and see if that catches them.

If any happen and you get short of breath, light headed orpain, go to the ER.

You asked...Do you mean that is not likly that they are serious in my case?
blu3crayon, only a doctor can tell you that....

I have a 27 year old son that has anxiety problems for several years and he often has a lot of chest pain during his anxiety attacks, plus he has chest pain when he has a bad migraine headache. But he does not have PVCs and the doctors say that it is common and that his heart is very healthy. (of coarse some of his problem is that he is not willing to take his medicine the way he is supposed to and he won’t stay away from alcohol or smokes

I have had PVC's (I guess you could call them 'a symptom', but personally I called them 'a plague') for about 40 years. They have been getting continually worse and more disabling through the years, but I was unable to get a doctor to observe what was happening. It was only after other heart diseases caused me MAJOR problems, and I have been diagnosed with several heart diseases that I have been given Tikosyn to strengthen my heart beat to help my PVCs; plus with the Atenolol and Plendil that I am on helping my heart to beat slow enough so my pacemaker beats almost all the time, finally, I have some relief from the pain and exhaustion the PVCs cause me.
As for you ? If you go to the ER with PVCs, see if you can get them to check your heart befor you tell them you have anxiety problems.

Who knows, if I had been diagnosed when I was in my twenties, maybe I would be in better shape than I am in now…

enie sugessted for you to tell of your problem without telling them of your anxiety disorder and that is a great idea.Unfortunately with some doctors once they find out you have anxiety disorder you will not be taken as serious.I know it first hand any time I have told "well I have anxiety disorder" suddenly everything changed.Anytime I did not mention my anxiety disorder I was taken seriously and tested etc.So if I am seeing a doctor other then my primary one for something that is new or troubling me a good deal then I do NOT mention my anxiety disorder so then I am checked over much better.

tnmomofive,
Yes, I agree. When my son would tell the ER that he had anxiety or migraines, he just gets shot up with meds and sent home with no concederation of his chest pain. I want the ER to always take his chest pain serious because of the problems with Marfan that is in our family.
