I was looking into getting either an auto or jet injector because I just get to anxious with a pen. I was hoping you guys could tell me what some good ones are. I was looking at one called Diapen, but its not available in the US unfortunately. Also if you use one, could you please give me a briefing of how its working for you? I just want something that pushes in the needle quickly without me having to do it.

The injectors can also cause a lot more damage than a needle. It can cause the skin and tissue to thicken and get hard and then you lose the site. Also, it tends to bleed. After a while you don't get as good absorption and you can run out of places to inject. The pens are much better.

Good! I always found syringes less painful then pens. Have you tried that? Inhaled insulin is becoming more commonly used too.

There are still a lot of problems with inhaled insulin. One of them is that the dosing is very inaccurate. It comes in doses of 3 and 8 units (I'm not sure about t he 8). My endo asked one of the guys promoting this stuff what you have to do if you only need 5 units. The answer was "take 6". So you would have to take an extra unit because the smallest doses it comes in is 3 units, and then work out what you needed to do. Also, you don't know if all the insulin actually gets absorbed into the lungs. And there's still the problems of growths and tumors in the lungs.

It comes in 3 and 9 mg packages. I'm not sure how many units are in a mg. It's dosed totally differently from injected insulin.

I would never do inhaled insulin, but I guess some people love it.
