Hey everyone. I am new here. I just needed some advice. A brief history, in 2001, I had hemmie and fissure surgery, in 2005, I had a hysterectomy and pelvic prolapse repairs, and just recently, September 19, I had another repair for prolapsed bladder and rectum. Well, I have had serious issues with bowel movements. I am taking miralax and mineral oil to prevent constipation. So, when I get the urge to go, I can't push the bowel movement out. It is horrible pressure and I can't seem to push the bm out when it is in my rectum. I will use a glycerin or ducolax suppository, then pace around for a little while, then maybe go a little bit, then walk around a little more, then insert another suppository, then go a little bit more, then I either have to remove the stool manually with my finger, or use an enema. It has been horrible. Then, after all of this, I am in horrific pain. I mean, on a pain scale of 1 to 10 and 10 being the worst, I am like a 7 or an 8. It hurts like 1 to 2 hours afterwards. The pain is so bad, I would like to jump out of my body. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I did buy some metamucil caplets today and took 5 at one time. it says I can take 15 per day. I was drinking Konsyl, but I just absolutely hate it. Anyone else with any advice that may help me? I almost feel like I have a fissure again and am wondering if the surgery could of caused it>>> I see the doctor Wed for a 4 week follow up and will tell him all about this, but it is so humilating and embarassing. UGH Thanks for any replies, momto4

I have sever constipation. I have to take a good dose of vit. c and doclace every day. Fiber does not help me but makes the constipation worse. i am also taking hyscyamine for colon spasms. The spasms can be very painful. Have you had a colonoscopy? They are not bad at all. I had my first one a couple of weeks ago becasue i was having intestinal bleeding. The dr. found a huge polup and removed it. It was not big deal and the polup was benigh.

I hope you find solutions that work for your body, soul and mind.

Momto4kids,

You may like to try a couple of doses of Silicea 30c and see if that helps. Silicea 30 is a mineral based homeopathic remedy and should be available at a heath food store or homeopthic / natural pharmacy. It has been used for such symptoms as you have described. It just might help

You can try Fiber choice hard candy drops. They taste like candy and after 3 of them you will feel you got to go. Also Sunsweet prunes works too Eat like 6 of them. Putting more fiber in the diet seems to help greatly.
