I have been having problems now for two years. I finally
got rid of the hy pylori but 4 months down the line I feel
no better. I get chest pain, heartburn, stomach bloating I
look pregnant, indigestion just feel so ill all day long
every day. When I breath in I can see what looks like a
pit in my stomach and then it slightly bulges above my
belly button. Its like where the dent is something has
moved downward. Could it be a hernia ?

I've been having almost these exact symptoms for the past few weeks. Upper and lower abdominal pain and a small raised area above my bellybutton. I haven't gone to the doctor because I don't drive and it's too inconvienent for anyone to take me. So I am just trying to tough it out. But I'm miserable. It never goes away now. I figure I've probably got cancer but that's always the first thing I think. I just hope I don't end up in the ER some time soon, but something is wrong I know :(

I was treated for h pylori almost 2 years ago and I'm still having stomach pain.
Some days are worse than others, and some foods trigger the symptoms. The bloat is almost constant.....
I have to have another endoscopy in December. The pylori was in my esophagus and caused some damage, so they have to make sure it's healed. I am going to ask them to do another biopsy to see if the pylori came back,
or if it's chronic gastritis.

Hi Gingertea,

I have reflux/hiatus hernia and have just had a blood test to see if I have got Pylori also...

Now I have read somewhere on the net that this can be treated with loads of pills and antibiotics? but sometimes getting rid of Pylori actually can make things worse in the upper gut (and least that is what I understood it to say...) so getting rid of it - helps in one part of the body, as I think it is associated with ulcers - but does not help in other part.... and also the use of all the pills can have side effects in the body ocasionally - gee am I confused by all this - it seems that even the doctors have different ideals.. So I hope I do not have it as then I shall not be sure what advice I should take..

I hope you and all the others feel better soon

Hi,

I have just finished a mega course of anti bios for pylori H. I ended up buying the test myself from a chemist then taking the results to my GP. I week after 2 week course finished I bought another test and it was neg. It really annoyed me as my GP hasn't taken my symptoms seriously. I am still suffering chest pain, palps, and upper tummy pain but I think its Gerd which again I put to the doc after going on to acid reflux board. My GP agrees and has put me on antacids. I do suffer from anxiety but I feel as though my GP put everything down to anxiey and I am left to self diagnoise...

jules174....

It's possible you got a false negative on your H Pylori retest, if you only waited one week after taking the meds. Two years ago they would not retest until I had been off the Protonix (or Nexium, Prilosec, etc) for two weeks, because of false negatives. Now they tell me new reports came out that say wait 4 weeks after taking PPI's before you retest. PPI's can mask the H Pylori so your retest comes up negative when it really is positive. You may still have the Pylori and that is making you feel bad. It's a shame your doctor doesn't take it seriously. If they don't do an endoscopy they cannot assess the damage that is done to your esophagus, which can lead to problems of it's own.

Hi all hope your all feeling better. I have now been put on rantinide or something like that. Doctor thinks its all down to acid reflux but I am not too sure if she is right or not. If I stand up with nothing on ( not a pretty sight) I can see like a crater in the left hand side under my rib and the tube running down the centre of my stomach looks like its protruding
