i have been on lexapro(10 mg) it helps a little with anxiety and depression but i still feel like it could do some more as far as with ocd my thoughts are worse i think on medicine. has this happened to anyone else.

Yes. I was on 10 mg of Lexapro and my anxiety and OCD became worse. How long have you been on it? It may take some time to work effectively. Don't give up yet! :angel:

i have been on the lexapro for 4 weeks the doctor said give it up to 6 weeks to work it is helping anxiety and depression though. it just makes me feel a little zoned out and sleepy so i would almost be scared to increase it.

Well, I'm glad to hear that it's helping in other ways. When I took it, I had even more panic attacks, so needless to say, I wasn't on it for too long... Good luck and God bless! :angel:

My 9-year-old son has been on Lexapro for OCD & anxiety since June and has improved tremendously. It took a long time (6 to 8 weeks?) to see results, but I'm glad we didn't give up. The only side effect we have noticed is an increased appetite, but even that has subsided somewhat lately.

i have definetly noticed the increased appetite ( i eat more than my husband does) i do not like that part well iam glad it worked for you i am not going to give up yet on it i guess.

Hi! I have also been diagnosed with OCD. It was a long journey to get there I must say. I have been on all sorts of medicines such as Prozax and Zoloft and finally Lexapro. Lexapro helped maybe a tad, but that is it! I, finally, after seeing a new therapist was put on something called Luvox. I am on 300 mg (you can go all the way up to 400 or so i think). I just had to tell you b/c it is really helping me. I have noticed after a good eight wks. that I feel better. Ask your dr. or therapist about it - it really works! Good Luck! You are not alone! :)
