Hey everyone! First of all, I want to thank all of you who relpied. It really means a lot to have someone to talk to who as been thru the same thing...and who will NOT judge me. Thank you soo much! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Okay..I have a question...sometimes, when I am forced to eat WHOLE meals with my parents (and keep in mind, that I have a salad a day diet)..anyways..I tend to feel really sick afterwards, like my stomache can't handle all that food. I don't know what to do. It makes me feel disgusted with myself..and I'll cut back my food supply even MORE as a form of "punishment". I don't know anything about ED..so anything you can tell me, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you. Always, Kat.

Hi Kathryn,

This is a normal feeling when you restrict. Your body starts getting used to less food and you do feel a bit sick when you eat a bit more. The feeling should pass and alot of it is due to the anxiety of having food in your stomach. As a former Anorexic/bulimic I used to feel this alot. But it is important you don't skip out on nutrients and vitamins or you will just get sick. Do you have juices this would be a good idea and may help you slowly get used to more food. It is tough trying to eat but it does get easier if you are willing to try for your life and your health. It also does take time and you may need to deal with alot of feelings first like the anxiety and fears. I haven't read all your posts so I may be missing things about your Ed.
Take care,
Mel

Kathryn--

I know how you feel! I feel exactly the same way! Everynight after dinner [if i had to eat it with my parents] I feel so sick! The feeling really stinks! I was talking to my friend about it last night and stuff, so I understand that it's hard! Hang in there!

Hey Kat http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Mel is right, it's because the amount of food your body can handle is getting smaller and smaller. I often feel sick if I eat large amounts of food, and since I struggling with bulimia, I often find myself purging not necessarily because I WANT to, but because I NEED to in order to feel physically better.

Good luck!!

sarah
