Hi Were in Mexico today. The weather has been nice. Tom went ice skating yesterday here on the ship . He is a great skater. Were having a good time. Day 46 for me with no drinking. I have no desire either. Feels good. There was a HUGE fight 3 cabins over at three in the morning on our first night. Horrible, he was beating the women up. I went out on the balcony and was really scared for her. I thought he was going to throw her over. Trust me, it wasn’t just an argument. Of course I called the front desk. Once they quieted down, the people in the very next balcony started up. I think they were related to the other cabin. Unbelievable. I spoke to the woman at the desk the next morning (a few hours later) and the man told her that they were just having a little argument. “No big deal” I though Geeze, I’d hate to see a big deal. He said she bit him so he just slapped her. Trust me, he was knocking her around the cabin. It was like a mini AA meeting for me confirming how life can be so unmanageable when drunk.

Last night was formal, tonight is casual attire. The food is excellent. The coffee is as strong as ever but makes a beautiful ice coffee as I am now addicted to that. We have a table for two, we prefer that. I have internet access in my cabin and I am watching Tom take a snooze. They have a AA meeting at 4 every afternoon in the chapel.

I’ll write again,
Your Friend,
Marilyn

Hey Marilyn,

Congrats on you being sober for so long! You really deserve this cruise. That's good that you can see how messed up people are drinking and not want to be back there yourself. Have fun!!!

Congrats on your sober time, and being on a cruise. Oh well, someday I will go on a cruise, first I have to get over the fear of flying. I am a big chicken. No matter how long it has been since I check into this board there is always a cheerfull message from you. You are such an inspiration to so many, me included. I think I am on day 64. I am not exactly sure but I should probably keep count. Anyway thans for always sharing.

Hey Marilyn...

I'm so glad you are having fun and staying sober. Someone else here mentioned that you are an inspiration, and you certainly are to me! I have followed your progress, a bit quietly...I don't think I've talked to you till now but keep on truckin'!

Three cheers to you!!!

God Speed!
