I am fed up! I have been going to the doctor at least twice a month for these things for the past eight months! They keep giving me meds (diflucan pill and the vaginal cream for insertion) and nothing is working. i have tried boric acid, and that didn't seem to work. i bought some "yeast cure" acidophilus tablets and some OTC stuff called "rephresh" for pH matinence, but i still have a yeast infection so i don;t think these preventative treatments will help. Mind you, i still have this infections after seven days of fluconazole (diflucan)!
i am so fed up i am in tears. my husband and i have no sex life due to this issue. anyone have any suggestions?

I feel your pain!!! I have been fighting those darn things off and on for a couple of months! However, I read that 1 part peroxide and water duches will help restore the PH balance and should help. I will try that this week myself. Good luck!

thanks for the support. i know, i totally feel like i am the only person afflicted with this.
I tried the homeopathic vaginal suppositories "yeast gard" for seven days and have been taking the "natures cure yeast control tblets" everyday too.
however, i still feel like i am having discharge from a yeast infection (ususally my only symptom of the yeast infection is discharge), but i am also just getting over my period. it may be normal discharge or not, i don;t know. i feel like i am super paranoid about any discharge now and don't know what is normal! i guess i will go back to the doctor this week.

Thank God I am not the only one!!!
I had a hysterectomy 8 months ago and now instead of my period a get what seems like a yeast infection every month! My gyno put me on bactrum because he thought it was a bladder infection, the next month I tried Monistat one day, then went to my GP and she gave me diflucan which did nothing. This is so frustrating I have about one good week a month and then I get a new infection. I've been taking this Probiotic 5 to help my good yeast levels could this be a PH issue? What can we do I don't know who to go to anymore my gyno is a waste of time and my GP didnt' even do a culture last time!

This is from personal experince.
Do you have sex at all with your husband? If you do are you sure he doens't also have a yeast infection? Mine got one from me and we were passing it back and forth for months not knowing he had it. He finally saw a doctor based on advice from my gyno and he was told he had one. He took the diflucan and it cleared up and I have been free of them for months now. Its not the kind of thing most men don't want to admit to a doctor so it can be a bit tricky to get him to go, but in the end its worth it. He was told it is rare but can happens.
Hope this helps.

I am going back to the doctor today to see if she can run some cultures or find out what is going on!! Maybe I'll try and get some diflucan for my husband, I thought he had a yeast infection In Aug. but it cleared up, I wonder if it never cleared up. I am soooo sick of this I feel like I want to wipe everything clean and try to get the right balance but I don't know how or what to do. I wish someone could give us an answer.

hey, i know, its very frustrating!!!i never know if its yeast or what?! Ive had cronic yeast infections,(had bv for a year too)My area is alwys so wet, which makes sex very yucky for me. I have a whitish/yellow discharge all the time, with NO other symptoms.,no itch...nothing every month i pop probiotics.I keep that area as dry and clean as possiable. There is no smell,or white clumps (knock on wood!) Maybe this is just how my body is!!! Im 36 and have 3 kids, all 6 years apart! Hormones suck. My doctor said I could fight yeast infections until I can stop "sweating" down there!!!!! Yikes!!! Cant they make a dehumidifier for that area! LOL!!!!! Good luck ladies.I know it sucks. Im paranoid about that area, even with my husband....it has almost destroyed any sex life we have!!!!!!!

i've been having problems for a year and a half with BV and yeast. no matter what i do i can't seem to get rid of it. i usually don't go more than 2 weeks without one or the other. and it's always extreme. when i have BV the smell is so strong it goes through my clothes. when i have yeast it always burns and hurts and i have awful clumpy gross discharge. don't really no what to do. diflucan doesn't work. nothing i get for BV works. pretty much i guess we have to except this as an illness i guess. like other people with incurable diseases. at least that's how it seems.
