Hi everyone, I have a 6cm cyst on my right ovary and my doctor says that she can do surgery to take it out. I haven't really had any pain in that area but for the past month I have been having achiness all over and upset stomach and just not feeling good at all. I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this or knows if these symptoms could be from the cyst or do they sound more like anxiety. They have done blood work and tests and everything came back normal. I am just really worried. Thanks!

The cyst should just cause sharp pain on your right side. You might have some pain that radiates beyond that but it shouldn't cause your other problems. Cyst come and go according to your monthly cycle. Some just happen to get bigger (even bigger than 6cm). They magority of the larger ones will go down on its own. If there's no pain I wouldn't have the surgery. The symptoms could be from anxiety but if you continue to have these problems or new ones come up you probably should see your primary care doc. Some illness can start with vague symptoms.

Hi, thank you for writing me back. I went to the doctor today and he said that the cyst is not a normal cyst it is a complex cyst and he said that those kinds of cysts can cause achiness and upset stomach. But he said I have to get another ultrasound tommorow to see if it is going away and if it isn't then he said I need to think about surgery or birth control pills to shrink it. My regular doctor has done blood work tests and I have had tests for blood clots and he said everything is normal. But I just feel so sick. Do you think it makes a difference what kind of cyst you have?

It does make a difference what kind of cyst it is. And most GYN's will remove complex cysts. I don't think they tend to go away like regular cysts. I"m not sure what the symptoms are. I do know that they need to be taken care of but that it's not like an emergancy.

I had a complex cyst about that same size. My doc didn't want to do surgery. Mine was left alone and eventually went away by itself though it took over a year. During that time i had achiness radiating from my right side and upset stomach I could barely eat anything. I also remember feeling more tired than normal. I never had the sharp stabbing pain either. Hang in there, I know what you're going through.
