I guess it really depends on how your body is, if you've lost your menstral cycle, it may be extremely hard. I lost mine for a while, but I got it back, I am about ready to deliver any day now,(my 1st-it's a boy http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I believe that it can affect your fertility, but I'm not sure for how long.

Hi Dawning_Summer!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

Glad to hear you're still doing good with your bulimia issues!! That's great inspiration for all of us still struggling to gain control!! It's always nice to hear back from people who have struggled and beat it!! I have a lot of respect for you!! Congrats!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

As for it affecting fertility, yes it does. I'm not sure in what way, and there are a gazillion other people better suited to answer your question, but I do know that it DOES effect fertility. I'm sure there are tests that your doc can run, etc...Good luck!! and I'm sure others will be by to post soon with more medical explanations.

AngeliqueM--CONGRATS ON THE BABIES!!! awww!! how cute!! And good luck!! You give me hope!! thank you!!

NEVER GIVE UP

hey Sarah, thanks for your reply. I still struggle with it on and off it's just not as bad. I like to help others now because I know there is a way out.

if you ever need me, let me know.

Having bulemia did a lot to my body that is why I was thinking it might have something to do with it.

*hugs to all*

Dawning Summer,

Yes, Bulimea can affect fertility. Even if you are healthy now at a good weight and have gotten your periods back, fertility can still be an issue.

It all depends on how long you were too thin or malnutritioned as well as how long you went without a period.

Malnutrition can cause some organs too die. You should see a fertility specialist or OBGYN to see if you are still capable of having children. Cat
