For about a year before i got pregnant i had a severe pain in my upper abdominal region that would come every few months then go away after anywhere from 10 minutes to 5 hours. I have had three children and id call the pain just as bad as giving birth! While i was pregnant the last time around it completley went away but two weeks after having my baby it came back, doc diagnosed gallstones, but i dont think thats what it is, an ultrasound showed some small ones, but i am still unconvinced, after reading about them it doesnt quite match up, the pain i have feels like a huge tightening that happens all by itself and is so damn painful! Only the last few times that it has happened i have worked out that if i can release the muscles that are tight it will go away (usually to return again in 10 minutes - but by repeating the process a few times it goes away completley.. til next time) its hard to pinpoint exactly where it is, it sort of feels like the diaphagm, it kind of radiates out into my back sometimes, but maybe its just my upper abs.. i have no idea... has anyone heard of anything like this?? please help!!!!

Sounds exactly like gallstones to me. Why do you think not?

coz theyre meant to get worse with pregnancy according to the doc.. not go away! and how am i able to make it go away by relaxing certain muscles? (which is really hard to do when your in immense pain!!)
