I have what appears to be dandruff. Not all the time, but it looks like dandruff. But it's not all over my scalp. Just along my hairline in the front. Under my bangs, and around my face to behind my ears. I've tried H & S, I even let it sit for a minute to make sure the meds in it have a chance to do their thing but it's not working! Is this something else? I'd hate to go to the derm. to find out I have dandruff and just need a different shampoo. Anyone know what this could be, what's causing it and what to do to fix it? I don't use alot of hair products and I do wash my hair every day cuz it's extremely oily but I don't go crazy w/ the shampoo. I rinse real good and I use conditioner. Help please!? It's embarrasing

try a different shampoo.
my 15 month old son has it really bad and head and sholders did not do the trick either.
to get it under control we had to use t-gel, it's a shampoo and is on the asile with the other dandruff shampoos. it stinks really bad, but works well. let it set for like 3 or 4 min.
we use that like once a week and the rest of the time we use selson sallon. it is a dandruf shampoo, but smells good.
it seems to be helping so far.
good luck and hope this helps.

I have a problem with my hair being too oily too but, on the other hand, I can't wash my hair every day because it is very sensitive. So, to combat the oiliness on the days that I don't wash my hair, I sprinkle some baby powder into my hands, rub them together to distribute it evenly and then massage it through my hair from root to end. It is surprisingly effective. Another thing you can do to combat the oiliness of your hair if you chose not to wash it every day it, don't use conditioner on your roots and about 3 or so inches from your roots. You might try these techniques to see if the problem with your hairline is related to washing your hair every day. The only thing that I am concerned about is the possibility of the baby powder drying out your hairline further and causing more flakiness. Have you tried applying some moisturizer to the visible portions of your hairline? Perhaps it is just really dry.

I wish I could be more help but, the only thing that I have that is similar, that I can be of some help with, is rhw oily hair every other day issue.

Sorry! Take care and keep in touch!

I have tried to go w/o washing and doing the powder thing, but w/ my hair color I have to make sure I really rub it otherwise you can tell. So it's easier to just wash it. I have tried putting on lotions and it didn't help. But thank you for your input!

Sounds more like psorasis. Try stronger shampoos specifically for psorasis.

If that fails, it may be time to make an appt with the dr.

Good luck.
