for those of you going through a difficult time, stay positive and things will get better. The last three months I've been in the emergency room six times and really thought I was about to die several times. For about sixty days, I've had to take at least one benzo a day to get me through my symptoms, which seemed to morph over time. I've been through the head zaps, head fog, chest pressure, arm pains, numbness, blurry vision just to name a few. I've had all the tests run and everything checked out OK.

I started excercising, eating better and lexapro 10mg about two weeks ago. The last two or three days have been the first time I've felt normal in some time; whatever normal is for me. I'm not saying that i'm out of the woods yet, but I certainly feel much better.

I came to this board when things were not going well and got some great information from you guys so I hope this may help someone that is going through a difficult period. Stay strong and remember if you keep doing the same thing you've always done, you will keep getting the same results. If you are having problems, take action. It may be meds, it may be diet excercise, meditation or whatever. Take action and things will get better.

Hope this helps someone.

Millhouse: Good for you. I was wondering if you suffered thru derealization? You said you were in a fog and I am as well. My doctor thinks it is derealization. Just wondering when it will go away. Just want to know more about your road to recovery!

I don't think what I had would be considered derealization. When I mention being in a fog, it is more about a loss of concentration and inability to think clearly. When I would have these symptoms, a xanax or klonopin would clear things up.

If it was derealization, then it has gone away here lately.

It took about 10 days for me to feel the positive effects of the Lexapro. At first, I really think the Lexapro caused additional anxiety and some new sensations and when you suffer from anxiety, any new sensation is a scary one. But I'm two weeks into the medication and can really feel the difference. I'm still not afraid to take a Klonopin if needed but I haven't needed it much lately. The only downside with my medication is some insomnia from time to time but when I wake up I'm not having the anxiety attacks.

best wishes to everyone. I know I've got a ways to go, but it really is nice to see improvement.
