Has anyone switched from Celexa to Lexapro or Lexapro to Celexa with success. I have many twice and my Dr. thinks that pharmalogically.....it makes no sense but he said if it worked once...why not try it again.

I swithced from Lexapro to Celexa. But gave it a few months in between. Celexa is not as strong. I personally like it better than Lexapro. What are you switching to?

I actually am going from 10mg to 20mg of Lexapro starting today. If this does not work I make try to go back to Celexa. My doc thinks that if Lexapro doesnt work then Celexa wont right now. I have switched from lexapro to Celexa 3 years ago and it worked great. I am hoping moving to 20mg to Lexapro works. I love Celexa and am pissed it pooped out

What mg of Celexa did you take

40mg of Celexa for 2 1/2 years was the best I have ever felt. I loved it. I liked Lexapro the first time but not as great as Celexa. Celexa was an A+ for me while Lexapro was an A-. The dr thinks that the two drugs are the same and if one works the other should but switching after a poop out makes no sense to him. Although....i have the history to show him that it does.

I would try it again. It's definetly worth the try. I have been on 10 for about 4 weeks and just yesterday started the 20. I have been feeling pretty good. the only thing.... is that I still feel like I am in a fog (derealization) and I was wondering if you ever had it? and if so did Celexa help you get rid of it? I am hoping that the 20 will kick in in a couple of weeks.

I think that fog is very common for all SSRI's. I think it is your brain trying to get used to the med. I had great success on Celexa and would stick with it. I was doing average at 10mg of lexapro....but I am greedy and want to feel great at 20mg. If this does not work....Paxil is my next step. I am anxious today but that is because I know I just added 10mg to my brain
