I have been on .5 mil xanax twice per day for six months. It seems after anywhere from two hours to six hours of physical activity, my bp goes up to 150-160 over 100-120 and my pulse goes up to 100-130 and I am short of breath and feel like I am going to pass out. I do not smoke or drink. Been to ER twice for this and they say it is nothing but anxiety. I have had complete blood tests, everything checks out very well. I am going for a stress test tomorrow to check for angina, though I never have chest pain during these incidents. Anyone ever experience anything similar to this? If I am inactive, I am fine, but I cannot even work or exercise because of this. Please help with experience or advice if you can.

i have been having similar issues with xanax and excerise lately. i just started .25 milligrams twice a day ( i know its a lose dose) but i have noticed that when i excersize my heart races more than usual and i get really shaky. i am going to see my psychiatrist on monday and i hope she can explain this to me. i will all of a sudden feel lightheaded and have to sit down. this happened to me yesterday and my doctor said that it shouldnt be the xanax making me feel that way so i took one and i felt "calmer" after about 30 mins but i didnt feel 100% better. i feel like the xanax has made my anxiety a little worse so then i have to take it more. i can see why people say it's addiciting.

Thanks for the reponse. If my stress test is good, my doc says perhaps I should see a psychiatrist. Please keep me posted on how your visit works for you. I would appreciate the input. Good luck.

I've also noticed my pulse seems faster on xanax. I had posted a while back on this. Before xanax I was on buspar which for some reason caused my pulse and blood pressure to be really low and now I'm off buspar and on xanax and it seems fast - especially in the mornings or if I'm really active. Could just be I'm out of shape who knows....

Take Care,
Tori
