My mom has had anemic problems and she's a heart patient. She is 83 and has a pacemaker. But she has multiple small problems. One is lack of energy. My cousin said she knew a lady who sounded like my mom and was given a MTR blood test. I looked it up on the internet and after about 5 websites that were over my head in their descriptions I found that we are looking for vitamin B12 deficiency as well as B6 and folic acid. I met my mom's doctor for the first time and she said to e-mail her with the sites I found. I did and my mom's doctor is ordering this test be done for her. Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to anemia. And one website suggested that women over 80 need to be checked monthly for this because their ability to retain B12 is diminished.

Most people over 65 have lost lots of their intrinsic factor which is required in the intestines to absorb B-12. So how to get around this problem is to take B-12 Sublingually (under tongue) and allow to dissolve so it goes into the Carotid artery then directly the blood stream. They sell these lozenges in health food stores......
