Since I have been using my heart monitor again I wonder what is a good heart rate.

I mean, what should your heart rate be when your PACING at a steady speed, and what is the maxium you should hit before it is too high?

THANKS!

Depends on your age and fitness level what your max heart rate should be. There's a formula somewhere how to work it out not sure what it is

formula is 220 subtract age. 20 years olds MHR is 200. don't train at max heart rate tho. around 75-80% is a good area.

I belive in general that, to burn fat, you want to be in the range of 140-160bpm. 160-180bpm is cardio/endurance range. Higher than that is anaerobic and only useful for short bursts.

These are generalisations though - unfit people probably burn fat 130-150, whereas fit people maybe need to hit 150.
