Last Saturday, I went to the ER after a week of a sharp pain in my lower right side. After several tests, they found out it was a 5 cm cyst on my ovary. They gave me pain medicine and an antibiotic. I've been in bed the whole time, but now I have a very strange pain in my stomach. I wouldn't exactly describe it as a pain either, it's more of a strange feeling. It's very unpleasant but not exactly painful. I had a ruptured cyst about 2 years ago and I remember it being very painful. Could this be a ruptured cyst also, but maybe not as severe? I am concerned about this, and I've only had this for a little over a day. Should I be concerned enough to go back to the dr?

I suffer from multiple female related infertility problems. One of them is ovarian cysts. They flare up a lot, and cause a lot of pain, especially when they rupture. Any time fluid gets in our pelvic area it causes severe pain. I have even had pain linger for a couple weeks after. But, I wouldn't let it go if it keeps getting worse. If it's from a cyst, the pain should eventually ease up, and if it ruptures, you would have some type of discharge. Usually, relief comes pretty quick afte that, but like I said, the pain can linger for awhile, but at least ease up. I have endometriosis also, and that causes ALOT of pain. You might ask about that also. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!
