First off, I have to say that I have anxiety and depression. I have some heatlh anxiety, so I have come across many things that I thought I might have. But nothing gave me the urgent feeling to see a doctor more than reading the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Looking at the list on the sticky thread, I have most of the symptoms from the "general neurological", "mood/emotions", and "cognitive" category (most of which can be related to anxiety and depression)... and I also have many of the other symptoms.
When I go to the doctor, is the diagnosis completely based on reported symptoms? Is there any other way to find out besides the symptoms?

Pain is the one thing that is usually required to send someone to a Dr to see about a DX of Fibro. There are trigger points on your body that when pressed....causes mucho pain. It's not easy to be DX'ed with Fibro... They test you for everything else in the world and rule them out one by one. If you really tihnk you have Fibro(which I hope that you don't) your best bet would be to see a good Rhuemy Dr.
