I'm 30 yrs old and back in july found out my daughter has some serious problems ... i thought my symptoms had to do with stress of my daughters illness. It started with 1 swollen lymph node right under the right ear right by the jaw line i went to the doc they gave me some antibodics (for skin infections) which made it worse within the week of antibodics another formed right under the 1st one and the third formed on the left side of my neck. within the last 3 weeks i have been tested for everything from HIV to TB to strap throat .. i came back positive for having MONO apparently they believe i have had mono for years and didnt know it and toxoplasma which you can get from having cats they say i had that for a long time as well. i had a CT scan 2 weeks ago of my neck stating that my my lymph nodes are multypling and all 3 are swollen to 10 cm..they sent me for another CT scan thursday for my chest ,stomach and pelvic.. I also was sent to a ENT he was very curious he really doesnt have any answers for me.. he didnt seem to know why the antibodics caused more lymph nodes to enlarge and multiply.. he took a needle biopsy and hopefully will get the results by thursday along with the new CT scan and some more blood work.. he said its a 50/50 shot to get info from that kind of biopsy and if he couldnt get any answers then we would have to surgecially remove what he says the smallest of the 3 to find out if it is cancer... the weird thing is i have NO other symptoms no pain no sickness ..besides stress of my sick child and now this which i havent been eating latley because of all this stress. does anyone have any thoughts on this ????? like i stated only poisitive for mono and toxoplasma ... negative for HIV,STDS,white and red blood count are normal... all thoughts welcome....

Hi Mysti

If it turns out to be nothing - your mind will be put to rest.

If it turns out to be something, in my experience, it still puts your mind at rest because then at least you know what your dealing with and can start to get it sorted!!

Good luck

Ails xx

Hi Ails,

thank you for the response.. i know i should ask the doctors this but im curious to find out if you know or anyone else is familier with lymph nodes multiplying as well as certian ones being swollen is common in cancer and is it normal for them too multiply after taking antibotics? i really am trying to stay away from the internet it always seems to go into a negative direction so i really havent done alot of research..
