Hi everyone i haven't posted for a while but have regularly been reading the posts.

I was diagnosed a while ago with gastritis through my symptoms alone, the only tests the doctor done were blood tests which came back clear.
Basically i am taking their word for it that i have gastritis although i sometimes wonder whether could be an ulcer.

I have been on nexium for about 3 months which has helped my symptoms a great deal, i recently forgot to take my dose of 20mg and the constant burning came back that day. Because i had been feeling so much better on the nexium i have been eating foods i probably shouldn't be. In the past 18 months i have lost nearly 2 stone and thought through eating junk the weight would creep back on.

Has anyone else suffered weight loss through gastritis? Also is there a diet sheet especially for gastritis sufferers?

I am also on lexapro for anxiety which i am not sure has been caused from my gastritis or whether the anxiety has caused my stomach issues.

Thanks for any comments you may give

YES! I have suffered weight loss from my gastritis! I don't know if it was because I could barely eat anything because I felt so horrible all the time or something else. I went from weighing 140 + lbs all the way down to 103 lbs at one time. I have SLOWLY gained some of it back and now weigh about 110 lbs. In regards to the diet, my dr. told me to stay away from anything acidic or irritating to the stomach like tomatoes, caffeine, chocolate (that is hard for me!), spices, etc. You could probably do a search for foods to avoid with gastritis and find alot more.
