View Full Version : Response to Exertion

I've posted on here about this before but I'm hoping for a fresh insight! Whenever I exert myself, even slightly my body gets really really really hot and takes ages to cool down, although saying that I find it hard to tolerate heat in general, even without exertion.

For example if it's 12 degress celcius outside and I sit outside I'll feel a bit chilly, but something as simple as a slow walk gets my heart racing and my temperature shoots right up and I actually feel really hot, despite the cool temperature.

The problem then comes if I walk into a heated office, house or shop as I'll feel overwhelmed by heat and start pouring with sweat. It's affecting my quality of life as none of my friends seem to suffer from the same symptoms.

Any ideas what's causing it? I'm average weight, height and I've even been going to the gym for a while to improve my fitness but it's not helping.

Cheers

Hows long have you been going to the gym? It can take months to significantly increase cardiovascular fitness.

I think I mentioned this before, but if you're really concerned, you need to see your doctor. Increasing fitness can help, but we're not doctors so if there is something physiologically abnormal, we're not really qualified to offer any kind of prognosis. That's really what I would recommend as they have the means to conduct the tests that can give you something more concrete to go on.
