I have these clumps of brown stuff that gathers at the back of my throat and comes up some times when I spit. I can feel them in the back of my throat and sometimes I cant get them to come up. When they do they are yellowish brown and they smell really bad. I am just wondering what they could be and if this is serious or nothing at all. I just think it would be weird to go to the doc and tell them that they would think I was crazy.

Hopefully someone can help me. Or tell what to do.

Thanx:confused:

Do you smoke? or drink alcohol? I thinkthat is some kind of allergy..
I advise you not to spend any time and go to doc...

Goodluck!

I used to get something similar. Mine were white (no, not strep). They would start small and then grow until they would get so large I could actually scrap them off with my nail (I know - gross). They also caused me to have bad breathe. I think they were contagious because my husband at-the-time also got them.

I went to an oral patholoigst who could never figure out what they were. They finally resolved on their own. You may want to try a strong course of antibiotics to see if that resolves the issue.

Just my two cents,
Amy

They are called tonsil stones or tonsiliths. They are not harmful but they are very bothersome. There is not much you can do for them. I got my tonsils removed. That's the only sure way, but a water pick to flush out the tonsils can help some.

It appears like the expectoration resulting from sore throat. You may like to try a homeopathic remedy called Silicea 30c. That can help get rid of this problem.
