My mother has type 2 and is going to be put on a med called Byetta. Does anyone have any direct experience with this drug? Is this drug safe? Are there any side effects she should know about? Is it effective?

I have taken byetta for weight loss and also my grandmother. She lost weight on it. I didnt much, but thats because i didnt stick to my diet and exercise like i should have. I have been off of it for a while because of surgeries I had, but I think i am going to be starting back on it, because i really want to lose the weight.
