I have a pending physical exam with a new doctor and literally first physical exam at 34. I don't know what i am "in for" for the exsam hopfully is not as bad as the fiction in the internet. any info is great.

Mine were never painful.

Should be no problem whatsoever, even if it's a female doctor( they've seen all sizes, shapes, and forms)

Nothing to fear. Think of it as being proactive - finding situations in advance of them becoming threatening.

Yes - I removed my clothes - my doctor was a friend so that was strange. However, he was a true professional. At age 49, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. So I have been scoped, groped, scanned, xrayed, surgeried, biopsidied - you name it, I've had it. All along - everyone put me at ease. I got to a point when I walked in any medical office, I just handed them my pants - good luck - you will be fine.

Usually, it should involve an EKG, chest x-ray, testicular cancer exam, hernia test, along with various other innoculous items. Rarely at this age do they do a prostate exam, and blood work.

I would, personally, ask them to test the following (I think these should be standard practice for every man starting at 18):

Total testosterone
Free testosterone
Progesterone
Estiradol
Thyroid (full panel)

Even if you aren't having any problems with these items, it gives you a good baseline while you are feeling good to compare to later. The problem with treating low Testosterone is knowing what level your body needs to feel right.

Don't worry, it is never as bad as you think it will be.

Since I am fairly close to your age, your exam will probably be fairly close to mine. Really, there's nothing to be afraid of. Yes, you'll probably have to undress, but it's all part of a thorough checkup.

What will be done by the nurse and what will be done by the doc will vary, but in a nutshell, mine consisted of:

Get called back, nurse takes me to exam room to drop off coat, take off shirt and shoes. Get weighed and measured, get temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and breathing checked.

Since it's a routine physical, nurse takes me to get blood drawn and to give urine sample. (Seriously, the blood test is nothing.)

Also, doc wanted a baseline EKG done now, so nurse did that.

Nurse left, I waited about 10 minutes for Doc to come in. Talked a little about life in general, started exam, checked eyes, ears, nose, throat. Listened to heart and lungs while I sat and stood. Listened to stomach, checked reflexes, did the "turn your head and cough" test, went over exam results. Talked a little more, then left.

Nurse came back in to get me a tetanus booster, got dressed, and was done.
