Hi

You said in my other thread that you had a pain pump and would be happy to answer any questions I had.

I went to my NS today about pump. He suggested I try the implanted stimulator first. Because I am so young. (40) I may have problems with my body becoming to used to meds in pump and continually having to up dosage.

Did you try stimulator, What is your experience knowedge on stimualator and pump. Are you happy with the pain pump Anything you can tell me I would find most helpful.

Thankyou.

Barb, I am very happy with my pump. I had never given the SCS a try nor was it suggested to me, but then I am a lot older than you are. I think your doctor has a point because, like any medication, your body adjusts and then you need more of it. Technically, there is no ceiling for the amount of intrathecal meds you can take but I doubt you will hear your doctor admit that. Most of them aren't comfortable in the very high ranges. Hopefully, you will get good relief with the stimulator and I wish you good luck with it.

Carol

Carol, what was your pain level before the pump, and what is with the pain pump? How long have you had the pump?
