Hello everyone, I am new to these boards. I have a problem that is fairly common amongst many people. EATING RIGHT!
My problem is that I don't know how. I am an 18 year old male in college, I don't really have the time to cook meals that take lots of time. Does anyone have any recommendations? i.e.(books or web sites?)
Any help is much appreciated. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

hiya, have you thought about seeing a dietician? Its basicly importnant to eat a balanced diet, a little bit of everything. If you do a search on google for the '5main food groups' it will tell you how much you should eat of each. Have you thought about maybe on a saturday or sunday doing lots of cooking, prepair mealsand freeze them then you jsut have to take them out in the mornign and bung them in the microwave when your hungry?

Im in your shoes too. Im in college, and it is hard to eat right even if you do know how to eat healthy.
I use a book called "Exchanges for All Occasions" by Marion J. Franz.
It is a book made for diabetics using diabetic exchanges, but can be used by anyone that needs to know how much of what to eat everyday.
I would reccommend seeing a dietician to help you learn how to use exchanges, but the book does explain it well.
Good luck, hope that helps

Hey there! Welcome to the boards! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif
You may get a few replies here but why don't you try posting your question on the 'Diet and Nutrition' forum here at HealthBoards? It's probably more suited. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Take care!
