My 12 year old was diagnosed with hyperinsulinemia and fatty liver disease.
He is overweight but is working on it, and losing pounds now.
Does this diagnosis mean he will eventually have diabetes? What can I do to help him right now? We have an appt. with a nutritionist, but not for a month.
We are watching carbs. and sugars, is there anything else I can do for him?
He also has metabolic syndrome X. The doc. talked so fast, and didn't really give explanations. Any help appreciated. His fasting glucose was 91, then 101. Thanks. PAM
