Does anyone know any other words for mumbling, preferably a medical type term? And does anyone know how to overcome it?

Are you by chance doing the mumbling, or is it other people doing the mumbling?
If it is other people mumbling, that is a sign you are losing your hearing. Just went thru that with my husband and he now has hearing aids.

Yeah, it's me.
My hearing is perfect though, and tests have proven that.

Self confidence and being prepared before speaking will help eliminate mumbling. Usually we mumble when we are not sure of what to say or have fear speaking in public. Sometimes we mumble when we do not know the subject we speak about very well. We seem to stumble, stutter, mumble around trying to think of what to say. Best to not speak until you have in your head what you are going to say. Educate yourself before speaking, or work on self confidence, or work on your speech so you are able to speak clearly.
This may apply to you and it may not, but is food for thought.

Actually, that seems to be my problem. If there's something I really want to talk about, I speak perfectly. Hopefully this'll help me.. Thanks a lot.
