I'm 17 years old, and recently I've been very conscience of my weight, especially my stomach. I find myself looking at other peoples' stomachs and wishing mine looked like theres. I'm not that flabby or fat or anything, just enough for me to notce it. I often think, or even try to become aneroxic, but I realize after skipping a meal, that its just not worth it. Some of my friends have gone though eating disorders and I know its not fun. I know my mom has had a history with them, but I'm afriad to tell them. I sometimes try to exercise, but I can't get motivated enough to do anything. I don't want think to lead to anything serious. Please help me.

hiya, please please don't try asnd become anarexic http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif Ifyou look at a post about 'does anyone here encourage EDs' you will see a lot of replies on a similar subject. Maybe if you are unhappy you can change your diet, rather than skipping meals, just try and eat regular and healthily, its the best way to loose weight without endanagering your health

Hey there, MayMande. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif Welcome to the boards!
I hope that you don't take this too far and develop anorexia or bulimia.
With your mum having dealt with eating disorders in her life personally, that may increase your chances of developing the illness - so please be aware. You don't deserve an eating disorder and you never will... so don't inflict this illness upon yourself.
I think that it would be an excellent idea for you to discuss what has been going on with you lately with your Mum. You say she has dealt with an eating disorder - therefore she is sure to be very understanding! She knows what it's like to go through it, so she will do anything she can to prevent you having to go through that same misery.
Take care of yourself and best of luck with everything!
