I have been referred to a doctor who was described by my GP as a "Rehab" doctor for my sciatic-like pain of unknown origin. When the secretary called to set up the appointment (which is Oct 30, yay!) I asked her "What sort of a doctor is she?"
The secretary said she is "Cross-trained in Neurology/Rheumatology". Which sounds terrific, but what exactly does that mean? She's an MD, that much I know because her name is in the directory of Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada). I was also told that hers would be a "non-surgical consultation". Again, wonderful because I have no desire to have surgery. :D
What are the odds that this doctor will actually be able to tell me what's wrong with my back? I've had the pain since a fall in Oct/05. MRI, CT scan, EMG and x-ray all come up with nothing...
