From pushing on your head? Last night I was asleep and I was sort of using the top (like the semi soft spot) of my head to sort of anchor myself and pull my body up. I did this a few times. I woke up and now the top of my head hurts. Not like a headache; like the skull hurts. So what are the prospects for a concussion here?

Hello, not at all to be sarcastic with this question here but were you lying on a harder surface than say a bed? A concussion is usually defined by an "impact" to the head,so to speak, however your own body weight could well be the nature of say - pressure impact.
Do you have any other symptoms than the sore skull you described?
ie: eyesight irregularities or being extra fatigued, slow responses(physical & / or verbal),neck pain, etc...
The human skull is rather hard, a few weeks ago I passed out & fell down a few stairs and had the pleasure of hitting the front of my head on a brick wall..ouch. After a wonderfull ambulance ride to the ER I was given the dx of a severe concussion.
In answer to your question: I think it would be rare, but possible to have sustained a mild concussion after repeated times of using the top of your head in the manner you described. By the way, if you are experiencing(sp?) any of the above listed symptoms you may want to put a call in to your Dr. to be on the safe side.
Have a good day-rbecca

My bed is soft. Today I feel a little weird, but I honestly doubt its from the incident. I think its because I slept for 13 hours last night, just for fun, and drank some coffee this morning (which I very rarely do).
I understand that this may come off as an unreasonable question, but I've sustained a nasty concussion in the past and have been quite worried about them since.

Does your head still hurt?
Your question wasn't unreasonable- what's that phrase..the only dumb question is the question that you don't ask...
I know from personal experience that coffee can raise your blood pressure, and an elevated B/P can cause a terrible headache, more like a brain ache in my opinion!!!!!
I have had my fair share of concussions in the last month- due to passing out, falling and hitting my head on the floor, wall, coffee table,etc..- so I can understand your concern more than you know.
When you say that you feel weird, what do you mean by that?
I hope you feel better, rbecca

Well my skull is finished hurting.
I think I just felt weird today because I overslept by like 5 hours. If I don't start working at 7 as I am used to I can never get on track.
I called my mother who is in the 'medical know', I've talked to friends and everything, and it seems that the chances of me sustaining a concussion during bed scootching are nearly impossible.
I think the degree to which I worry about these things strickens my mental capacity to the point where its just as bad as if I've had some sort of injury.
In the scope of things, thinking that Im going to be slightly less mentally capable because of somehting like this seems insane, but I still worry about it uncontrollably.

It's normal to worry-
And no matter how weird, anything is possible, even under the circumstances that you described. Those in the "medical know" as you put it, also know that many things that seem obvious (like "it could be this... " or "it can't be that") are OFTEN wrong when test results come back.......
Sure, it is unlikely that you in fact sustained a concussion in the manner that you described- but not impossible!!!
The fact that you're feeling back to normal now is good, should something else happen and you don't feel "right" and you are concerned about it, don't let friends/family discourage you from seeking medical attention, even if someone is in the "know". It is your body and you know it best.
Have a great day,rbecca
