Hi. I have been hearing so much about antibiotics and MS...Ive heard that some are more dangerous than others to be on, but no one has told me which ones are "safe' and which ones are "dangerous' or why...Ive asked my gyn, my family practioner, and left a message for my neuro, but he is out of the office till Monday, and I cant get an answer..
Meanwhile, the eye doctor, wants me to take clindamycin for a infection I may or may not have..and told me NOT to take it until I check with my doctor!
Called the pharmacy, but they arent sure about MS...called the MS society and left a message, no answer..
Thought of you guys!! Can anyone please give me any info on why some are good, some are bad..and which are which??!!

I was warned about not taking antibiotics that cause neurological effects. These antibiotics are the floraquinolin examples are cipro, levaquin, avolox. The antibiotic you were prescribed doesn't seem to cause these effects. It however can cause severe stomache problems.Find out from your family Doc or neuro before taking.

Thanks Nuff. I appreciate any and all info. I cant seem to reach anyone at all who is willing to make a positive answer. Believe it or not, my general physician doesnt seem to know that much about MS, or what interferes with it...my Gyn , pretty much the same...my neruo, gone till Monday.
I will research the drugs you told me about to see if I can understand better the reasons why..
Thanks!
Nikki
