Janice is on day 3 of flow and is starting 150 mg of clomid again. I am confused, why is the doctor not trying something different if the 2 previous IUI failed with the same drugs?

I am so excited for her. I think MD does 3-6 round of clomid before they change to injectables. Is she going to a OBGYN or RE? That could be the difference also, OBGYN really dont fool with injectables so they will continue to use clomid until the cows fly home. How old is she? I belive at 6 months of trying and being over 35 she can go to an RE..

Janice is seeing a RE. She was referred to him in August. So I guess that is why since it only has been 3 months. What drugs did you use? And how many IUI's, can't remember. Here are Janice's TTC stats:

Janice - 31
DH - 32
TTC - with doctors since 9/05
TTC Naturally since they were married 2003 - never on birth control (she has no children, and never been pregnant)
She had LAP surgery 2/06 removed many polups
Tried naturally 3/06 - 7/06 - then refered to her RE
1st IUI August 06 with 100mg Clomid - BFN - 3 eggs IUI done after O
2nd IUI October 06 with 150mg Clomid - BFN - 3 eggs great lining - IUI done, then HCG shot, O'd that night, and 2nd IUI the next morning.
Starting 3rd cycle now with 150MG Clomid and acupuncture starts tomorrow

No dectectable problems with DH SA and all her hormones and tests have come back normal - except the polups.

I have the same problem. After 3 failed iui and 1 ended in m/c, my doc. still insists on his way of IUI protocol.

We just started 2ww with 2nd IUI today. After first failure and having to wait two months to go another cycle (due to cyst developed from clomid) I asked what our other options were. My RE offered injectibles. Said that they usually don't try this soon because of the price, but that after the one failed attempt, we could definitely try the follistim. We did and just have to wait now. She may want to speak up and ask, maybe they just aren't offering yet. All docs are diff, so never know.
