Greetings,

Just got my body check up report back and was told by my doctor that everything is good. But my heb B still exist and i need to take good care of my liver. No excessive self medication, and NO drinks..... Pretty much the same old stuff for the past few years.

But he mention something new yesterday , there's a medication that have a good percentage getting rid of Hab B onces and for all. Another alternative option with a success rate of 65% is to complete a course of injection that cost around 15k Euros. Thats alot of money....But there may be some side effect like vomitting , fever , lose of hair etc.

Advice needed....thanks

This was recently in the news. The drug is called Tyzeka, I believe. It doesn't cure you but suppresses the virus. In the U.S. about 70,000 people have Hep B and about 5,000 die annually. That's 14%. So you may want to weigh the issue. How progressed is your disease? Is it managed? If you are taking care of yourself, and the disease isn't progressing, you may never get to liver failure. On the other hand taking this medication may ensure you never do.
Or even look at it as an investment. You can spend the money now but not after your gone.

Hi kmacdona ,

That means 1 in 14 died annually because of Heb B, thanks alot for the information. I've been doing the blood test annually ever since i know that i'm a carrier. You mention that it suppresses the virus and not cure ?? But from what i heard from my doc is that should i be the lucky 65% if i opt to take the jab, the Heb B virus will no longer exist in my liver and my medical report.

Actually i'm more worry about the side effect , heard that there might be a chance that it could harm my liver instead. Is there any webby that got more information or patients that had already tried this drug ?

Just google search it. Every article I read said that it didn't cure Hepatitis B. And, as far as I know there isn't a cure for Hepatitis B. It will suppress it. Maybe to the point it doesn't stay in the liver.

Good Luck.
